Starting her career in adolescent grief counseling, she transitioned to health and housing once obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. Later obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration. The span of her work hasincluded housing, HIV/AIDS, Reentry, Workforce Development, Racial Inequities within Systems and Behavioral and Mental Health; with a consistent focus on the advancement of underserved communities.

Bill Hobbs, Founder of Urban Youth Impact, sits down with the Power2B show to discuss is journey of faith. Knowing God was calling him to minister to inner-city youth, Pastor Bill Hobbs left his professional golf career in 1988, which included working for Jack Nicklaus, to work with at-risk youth in Palm Beach County. In his desire to serve at-risk youth, Hobbs began bringing sports equipment and the Bible during his visits to children living in the housing projects along the Tamarind Avenue corridor. He noticed that the same 25 boys would come every week to hear about Jesus, how He loved them and how He had a plan for their lives. Because of his consistent compassion for the community, Bill became a trusted friend and father figure to the residents of Tamarind Avenue – one of the highest crime-ridden neighborhoods in the county.
 
He is also the author of “My Longest Drive, One Man’s Passion for the Urban Poor.”

Veronica Mitchell sits down with Dr. Byrd to discuss how a family tragedy shifted her focus and how God guided her through it all.
She is the founder of Love From The Inside Out and also the only African American female State Farm agent in Palm Beach County.
